INTERVIEW: We spoke with Paloma Rojo
A pharmaceutical company that cares for much more than just the skin
We met Paloma Rojo thanks to the incorporation of OhMyKoko into her pharmacy, and since then, we've only felt admiration. Paloma is not only a great professional with years of experience in the pharmaceutical field, but she also has something even more valuable: a humanity and a closeness that are evident from the first moment.
Her approach to care, her listening, her presence in every piece of advice she gives her patients... everything about her conveys dedication and authenticity. But this level of excellence would not be possible without the support of an equally dedicated and professional team , who supports Paloma every day with dedication and passion. Their combined effort makes the experience in her pharmacy unique and trustworthy .
For us, having our products in your pharmacy is a blessing , but having been received as we were, with such warm treatment, is a privilege.
Today we talk to her about skin care from her experience as a community pharmacist.

What would you say is the most common skin-related concern among your patients?
Due to the type of patients we treat, most of whom are elderly and have limited purchasing power, the main concerns we see are more related to health issues than purely aesthetic ones.
Most of the inquiries we receive are related to issues such as sun protection, the appearance of dark spots, and various dermatological conditions, such as atopic skin or lesions caused by actinic keratosis.
Have you noticed that your clients' skincare habits have changed in recent years?
Yes, especially among younger patients. We've observed that they are much more informed, especially thanks to the influence of social media, and are showing greater interest in establishing facial care routines.
They care about products, ingredients, and basic steps for skin care, which marks a significant difference from previous generations.

What role do you think community pharmacies play in educating and supporting patients with skin care?
The pharmacy is a trusted healthcare provider. Unlike other channels such as perfumeries or large retailers, at the pharmacy we offer personalized professional guidance.
We are trained to recommend the right product for each person, taking into account factors such as gender, age, skin type, and other individual characteristics.
What advice do you usually give when recommending facial care products?
When dispensing dermopharmacy or facial cosmetic products, we always emphasize three basic skin care routines that we consider essential: daily skin cleansing, proper hydration, and the proper use of sunscreen.
These three guidelines are essential for maintaining healthy skin and preventing both premature aging and common skin conditions.

What do you value most when you decide to incorporate a new brand into your pharmacy?
When considering introducing a new brand, we analyze several key factors: the type of ingredients it uses and how they are sourced, the manufacturing techniques it employs, the value of its products, and, of course, the brand's overall philosophy.
We look for proposals that fit our values and the real needs of our patients.
What common mistakes do you see people make in their skin care?
One of the most common mistakes we see is a lack of proper facial cleansing. Many people don't remove makeup properly or don't perform a deep double cleanse, which can lead to long-term skin problems.
Also common is a lack of regular exfoliation and poor hydration, basic aspects that make a big difference to skin health.

What motivates you to continue investing in personalized advice in an environment with so many online offerings?
We firmly believe that the added value of the pharmacy lies in its friendly, personalized, and science-based advice.
This individualized care cannot be replaced by algorithms or general recommendations: listening to, understanding, and guiding the patient remains essential, even in today's highly digitalized environment.
What caught your attention about OhMyKoko when you first learned about the brand?
We were particularly drawn to the minimalist design, the sustainability-focused philosophy, the carefully crafted aesthetics of the packaging, the pleasant textures and fragrances of the products, and the friendly, professional service.
We also highly value the training offered, which allows us to fully understand what we offer and confidently recommend it.

At OhMyKoko we don't just make natural and vegan cosmetics: we're the first skin activist brand.
